Every year, The Masque celebrates Mardi Gras with a writing contest!
To celebrate the addition of TheMasque’s new section on BDSM information, The Garden ~ Petals and Thorns [http://www.thebdsmgarden.com], your theme is The Erotic Garden. Your short story does not need to contain elements of BDSM, but should involve, somehow, a garden. This year’s contest begins February 9, 2016 and ends March 27th, 2016, Easter Sunday, at 12 noon PST. Voting will be between 3/28 and 4/2. The winner will be announced on April 3, 2016. Your prize is a collection of author signed romance, erotica, and YA novels!
As always, voting will be blind, so stories will be submitted for posting on TheMasque.net via email to cis {at} themasque {dot} net. She’ll get them posted anonymously on TheMasque.net as they come in, as well as keeping track of who created what. This contest is open for short stories only, and may be either fanwork or original general erotica with any theme, any fandom, and in any genre.
All authors and characters in sexual situations must be over 18. Please do not post your stories elsewhere until the contest has been voted on to keep it fair and anonymous. You may submit more than one piece to the contest. There is no word-count minimum. Word count maximum is 15K words.

The Garden, HELP!!, and the YGroup.
The Masque is... busy! I'm adding yet another site to the The Masque/The WIKtT Archives/Goddess Masks network!
This section is entitled The Garden and will be exclusively for and about BDSM-D/s-Gor-Fetish information for the curious and expert. It will in the same format as TM and TWA. I haven't decided that there will be a chat connected yet, but there will hopefully be a forum/BBS.
That being said, I need HELP. I need a couple of admins for the site. It's not much work, but it's more than I can handle on my own now. There's no validation involved, but there is some posting help required on the site and on the various networking pages that support the site, so you need to know efiction, FB, LJ, and YGroups. It requires about an hour a week, total, usually much less, but certainly more if you're bored.
Also, I wanted to let everyone know that (as you may have seen) the Yahoo group is being attacked by a spammer. I'm not sure how it's getting into the group, but it's not from a fellow member. The measure that I am taking to stop the madness is to make the entire group moderated. I'll have to approve each note that comes into the group, so if it takes me a couple days, I apologize. You're more than welcome to send me a heads up to get over and do it through my site email.

This story is a "prequel" to "An Afternoon in the Harem" (published December 1). It deals with events several years earlier, and describes the early experiences of young Lady Emily Forrester-Clarke, kidnapped from London into the harem of the Prince of al-Dakar.
