Oh my...

It's been far too long since I've imparted any words in this space. I could sit here and blame it on a busy schedule, life, kids, or the man, but that would all be a lie. Well maybe not a bold faced lie, but a tiny smidgen of one.

Quite simply, I haven't felt much like blogging or writing. I finally broke through that this past weekend with a six single spaced typed tease for the man. Gosh it felt good to write again. The benevolent one also cracked my arse into gear with the novel in the works- - Chains... or so it's been aptly coined while its a WIP. You can read the first couple of chapters at The Masque. I have yet to send the next 4 chapters out for grammar and fine tooth comb beta, but I'm working on it.

I had someone read strictly for content, and was pleased with their comment about flow and story line. I'm more convinced than ever that the outline is doing the trick. Can't have a project this big (22+ chapters) without an outline.

In typical fashion, just like most of the short stories I write for TM, I let the story just flow and realized I didn't like where it was going. No, let me take that back, I liked what I wrote, it was just far too soon in the story for that particular story line.

So with the none too gentle prodding from cis, I did pick up the chapters and found right where I wanted to clean it up. I kept what I wrote, just labeled it for use in later chapters.

I'm also completely enamored with a story series in TM, from dweaver. Let me elaborate, I love ALL of his stories, but this one is particularly intriguing me. It's sci fi and it's full of sex- inter species sex.

I'm envious at his ability to weave such intricate characters. Some would say that it's easier to write about the unknown because you can make it whatever you want it to be. There are no rules of engagement, no defined parameters- you can literally make it up as you go--- right?

I don't think so. There are quite a few authors in TM who have the ability to create the unknown and make it seem so real. I'm jealous.

It's the same thing with the fan fic writers in TWA.

They take Harry Potter and create these alternate scenarios of situations that are already defined and bring them to new heights. Cis won't tell you as such, but hers Weft of Power, Warp of Blood: A Tapestry of Desire is my favorite there. Not only has she given this epic years of creation, she has also taken it to a level that I've not seen from any other fan fic writer out there. She has created an entire parallel world that coinsides directly with the original characters and story line of the series. I've often told her that with some changes, she could have a series all of her own. She doesn't believe me of course, but I know. I always know.

I've even had some fun playing games on the forum boards.

Ever try to write a Haiku off the top of your head, or change one letter in a word to make it another? What about adding only three words to a story? There's lots of fun to be had there and we're always looking for more input.

So, in a nutshell. I've come out of my writing shell so to speak. I'm done with my haitus, or hopefully anyway.

So, with any luck, you'll see me poking around TM, and hopefully I'll see you there too!!!
